Government imposed 40% duty on solar equipment.

New delhi: Solar modules, cells to attract basic custom duty of 40% on solar modules and 25% on solar cell from 1 April 2022, It's boost local manufacturing.

In March 9 notification from the ministry of new and renewable energy,the idea is to emerge as a global supply chain on renewable energy,beside produce for own.

In the Paris climate agreement india promice to achieve 40% energy on electricity from non fossil fuel by 2030. India's target of 175 GW electricity produce by only renewable and the 100 GW should solar energy in 2022. Indian government aim make a total 450 GW electricity with renewable energy before 2030. 

Currently 15% import duty on solar pannel and cell from Malaysia and China.The market of solar pannel companies totaly dominant by Chinese farm. India import 2.16 billion worth of solar cell, pannel and module from 2018-19.

This move will make solar cells and modules important from China expensive. India want to became a mojor part on manufacturing green energy, And india became a leader on ISA (international solar allaliance). And it's headquarters on india.

Government announced incentive scheme for company who made this type of product in locally.This plan is working tell the ministry .15 companies are interested on it and a 3 billion investment come on it. The scheme is provide with the atmanirbhor bharat initiative.

Manufacturer have welcome it but they tell tax imposed on special economic zone also . Government should do something for them .
