Boris Johnson may cancel his India trip.

 

 London: UK prime minister Boris Johnson to cancel his trip to India as UK reports cases of a COVID variant first detected in India. Boris Johnson is all set to arrive in India on April 25th the UK has detected nearly 80 cases of the double mutant strain.

Researchers are currently investigating this variant Boris johnson has already reduced the duration of his trip amid the covet surge in India. The UK prime minister spokesperson said” I'm quoting here this program will be focused on high-level discussions with the Indian government and the Indian business leaders and the bulk of the program will now take place on April 26th ” This will be Boris Johnson's first trip to the non-European nation since resuming office, The last UK prime minister to visit India was Theresa may in November 2016.

 Now wide arranging issues are expected to be discussed during the visit including defense and security indo-pacific trade and investment in Health care and climate change. India and the UK have been strategic partners since 2004.

And now the two nations are set to agree on a roadmap 2030 to define future relations, the collaboration between India and the UK to deal with the COVID 19 pandemic is one of the highlights of their bilateral relationship. India and UK jointly manufactured and distributed a COVID 19 vaccine developed by oxford university and British drug firm AstraZeneca. The drug is being manufactured in India by the serum institute of India.

After Brexit UK has been working on an enhanced trade partnership with India with the name of achieving a possible bilateral free trade agreement.

 In the future UK has been supporting and closely associated with India's initiative of the international solar alliance and the coalition for disaster resilient infrastructure, The Indian diaspora in the UK is crucial in nurturing close partnerships between the two nations. The Indian diaspora remains one of the most economically productive and academically sound communities in the UK. And also the UK is the key point of Indian business in Europe.
