More than 50% resident carry antibody in Dhaka .


Dhaka 15 October :  A new study revealed that almost half of bangladesh's dhaka residents have been exposed to the coronavirus .

nearly 45 of the people residing in bangladesh's capital now carry antibodies ,the national level study found that the virus was present in nine point eight percent of the tested samples and the highest infection rate was among slum dwellers .

some 74 percent of the people from the city's congested slum areas have now developed covert 19 antibodies,

 dhaka is one of the most densely populated cities in the world around 21 million people live in the bangladeshi capital .

the virus was detected in the samples of about 127699 people living in the 25 wards of dhaka the study was commissioned by the government's disease control agency iedcr ,

now among the infected almost 24 percent were above the age of 60 years while 18 fell under the age group of 15 to 19 age,

 bracket the study also found that almost 82 percent of the infected population was asymptomatic and only one percent of those who showed symptoms needed hospitalization.
