Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with advance satage cancer

MUMBAI: Following the news of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt's illness, his wife Manyata Dutt has urged everyone not to listen to rumors.

Munnabhai MBBS-famous Mr.  Dutt did not say anything about himself or his family, despite reports in the media that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

The 61-year-old actor was recently admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai with shortness of breath.

Since then, there has been a heated discussion among fans about his physical condition.  Many on social media have expressed sympathy for him and wished him a speedy recovery.

In a statement, Manyata Dutt called on fans to pray for her husband.

He said, "I would like to appeal to Sanjur (Sanjay Dutt's nickname) fans not to get involved in any kind of rumors or gossip. I just want you to show your love and warmth for us and support us."

"Our family has had a lot of problems in the past. I'm sure we can do it again."

Although he did not talk about lung cancer, Mr.  Dutt said on social media on Tuesday that he was taking a break from work due to health reasons.

India's Times Now website reports that Sanjay Dutt's cancer is now in stage-three.

This means that the cancerous tumor has spread around the lungs but has not been able to infect other organs.

Komal Nahta, a prominent film journalist and editor-in-chief of Film Insider, said in a Twitter post that Mr.  Dutt has been diagnosed with cancer.

"Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Let's all pray for him," he said.

The film's insider says that he will be going to the United States soon for treatment.
