Hollywood's most prestigious award ceremony is finally here! The deadly pandemic may delay the ceremony but cannot stop it from making history. History was made in the most awaited 93rd Oscar ceremony by Asian filmmaker Chloe Zhao. Being the first Asian woman Chloe Zhao won the best director for her movie Nomadland. Zhao is also the second woman ever in 93 glorious years of Oscar to win Best Director.

Frances McDormand won Oscar for Actress in a Leading role for her amazing performance in the movie Nomadland. Zhao's film Nomadland won the battle in the Best Picture category too. The award for Best supporting actress category was also bagged by Asian actress Yung-Jung Youn for the movie 'Minari'. Youn made history as the very first Korean actor awarded the Oscar.

Indian legendary actor Irfan Khan(late) received a grand tribute at 93rd Academy Award (Oscar). Actress Freida Pinto shows her immense respect for Irfan khan by showing his glorious journey and legendary work For the Indian Film Industry.

Anthony Hopkins won the award for the second time in the Best Actor category for his amazing performance in the movie "The Father". The award was widely expected for late Chadwick Boseman for her iconic performance in 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom'. Daniel Kaluuya won the award for Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah. 'Mank', the most nominated film won Academy Award in two categories- Best Production Design and Best Cinematography. 'Soul' won Oscar recognition in the Best Animated Feature Film category. As the first woman in the past 13 years, Emerald Fennel won the award in the Best Original Screenplay category.

Due to the deadly pandemic, this prestigious award ceremony has been delayed for 2 months. This most awaited award ceremony finally took place on the 25th of April, 2021 amid the second wave of the pandemic.

For all Indian viewers, the ceremony was held on the 26th of April, at 5:30 am IST owing to the time difference. Due to the pandemic, the Oscar ceremony was held in a slightly different way this year. Two venues were there for the iconic award ceremony- the traditional Dolby Theatre and downtown Los Angeles' historic Union Station.

This ceremony was held by maintaining all COVID-19 norms. Unlike the previous year, there wasn't any traditional audience. Corona protocol and safety were maintained well during the ceremony. This pandemic era has witnessed another historic Oscar. I Hope, the next Oscar will be celebrated traditionally without any fear of getting positive.
