800 million dollar lithium-ion plant in India.

 


Bangalore: 800 million dollar lithium-ion battery plant in India to counter Chinese monopoly. As per the Indian Express report, This lithium battery plant establishes in Karnataka. The Epsilon Group as the name of Epsilon Advanced materials Pvt limited making the plant in Karnataka. 

 The plant will be injected Rs. 60 billion (807 million dollars) of investment to produce 1 lakh tone of graphite anode by 2030 which will amount to more than 10% of global demand. The plant has been set up by Vikram Handa, the son-in-law of India's biggest steel tycoon Sajjan Jindal.

 

 Over 80% of the world's supply of this is being produced by china, Importing Raw material like country India, South Africa, and other African countries. Currently, Epsilon is exporting precursor anode metal to china, japan, and Europe.

China commands a 60% share in natural graphite mining, and the country holds a virtual monopoly in supplying graphite for EV battery anode material, Australia wants to cut the share of china but there is a strong supply chain of china make an artificial barricade in this industry.


JSW steel ltd provides coal tar   -     Epsilon Group process it to produce Tires, fuel, and paints  -   Epsilon Advanced materials will do higher processing for battery materials. This is the procedure to make the battery.

  The Indian government support making India a superpower .recently Nitin Gadkari said, govt to come out with an advanced battery policy very fast. There is a lot of source of raw material in India, that's is a plus point for the company.
