China increase the price of API.

Delhi :  China increasing API price. API(Active pharmaceutical ingredient) is the key of pharma industry, All medicine made by it , so increase the API price means to increase the medicine price. China is the largest producer of API, India import more than 60% from china, When the lockdown start china to increase the price of API regular, Mainly the raw material of medicine is two type -

 

1. Active pharmaceutical ingredient ( The main ingredient to be cure)

2. Chemically inactive excipients. ( The main formula for cure any desies it deliver API to body)

 

There is an example, We eat crocin which use to cure body pain and fever. Its API is Paracetamol.

 

In November 2020 china increase the price it, and it increases not 2X example before November its price 320 rupees/kg.

Now it 650/kg.

 

In the increase of the price of API means price of increase of every medicine in India.

Expert says china the leading manufracuating of API is fluctuating the price, They say the reason behind India's major pharma company import API from china, in 2016 India order 56% API from china, Now 2020 we import 66% from china a total cost more than 54 billion dollars.

 

India failed to respond to make API, now china is the hub of make API. There is afact india is the largest manufracture of medicine in world but raw material come from china and our pharma indresty fully dependent on china.

 

In 2020 when pandemic start china ban the Export of API then some pharma company think to make API in india, but they think its risk to investment , because next 5 or 6 month the situation is similar like a normal day. But situation not done well .

 

The drug price increase 30% now a days, like vitamin, paracetamol and many more.

 

In march 2020 the union cabinet apporoved 9940 coror to make API in india. Goverment give incentive of total 6940 coror from the period 2020-2030 . and give some tax relax to company who made this , govt. Doing very fast .
