Brain eating ammonia in us drinking water


Texas 10 September: moving on a brain-eating microbe in tap water has now created panic in texas after the deadly microbe killed a six-year-old boy.

 earlier this month the child named josiah mcintyre lived in the city of lake jackson he died on september 8 following an infection caused by the amoeba negleria fowleri.

 the amoeba entered the boy's body through infected water his mother maria castillo said that he came down with flu-like symptoms at first but then his condition wasn't after they were able to get the spinal fluid sent off,

 we found out late monday night early monday morning that it was most likely this amoeba that was causing all of these symptoms the investigation into the boy's death led to the detection of the brain eating amoeba in the city's water supply.

 after health officials conducted water sample tests the state ordered the city to stop using tap water as it might be tainted with the deadly brain eating microbe to eradicate the microbe.

 the texas community is now flushing out its water system late jackson mayor has issued a disaster declaration for this emergency the texas commission on environmental quality has won the water authority of the potential contamination of its water supply by this amoeba .

the water authority said that it was unclear how long it would be before the tap water was again safe we're trying to get out any of our old water out of our system and bring in fresh water for free chlorine and try to disinfect the entire system and we'll be doing that for a 60-day period .

this amoeba known as nigleria fowleri is a free living microscopic amoeba which usually infects people when contaminated water enters the body through the nose the infection is usually fatal.
